DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe, Nusajaya

Goooood morning, world!

I feel energetic today although my sprained neck hasn't fully recovered by now (it's been 4 days!). Maybe because I had some superhero snacks for tea time yesterday that I have the extra energy today! *smirks*

Meat spontaneously asked me out but had no idea where to go. Before we knew it, we were on our way to Nusajaya for the DC Comics Cafe!

The cafe is situated in Little Red Cube, Nusajaya where there's the Hello Kitty Town and Little Big Club family theme parks too. It's very close by the pretty Puteri Harbour (quite a nice dating spot).

Quite easily found as all you need is to walk up the couple of steps and you're there! If you still can't find it, the landmarks are Starbucks and a fountain.

If you haven't got it already, the cafe is just a small section within the store.

For a tiny cafe, they have quite an extensive menu! Burgers, pancakes, waffles, coffee, tea, shakes, juices, ice cream...they got it all covered. The menu was rather complicated which took Meat and I some time to decide what to get. With that said, I wouldn't want to look at the menu if I was having a headache, that's for sure :P

They practice semi-self service. What that means is you place your order and pay at the counter, and they'll serve you later. Also, credit/debit cards can only be used for payments above RM50.

Gatherings in big groups aren't very suitable as space is very limited...unless you book the entire place :P The coffee tables with super hero logos imprinted on them can fit groups of threes (or four, if you squeeeeze).

Meat and I settled for two drinks and a dessert for our teatime, to accompany us as we chit chatted the evening away. Been awhile since we got to catch up with each other, since even when she comes up to KL it's more for her boyfriend than for me lolol

Smallville Prophecy Peanut Butter (RM18)
peanut butter, vanilla frost, whipped cream, peanuts.

As cool as the appearance of this drink looks, the taste was a major letdown hahaha My bad for thinking it's a peanut butter milkshake, which would've tasted really yummy. But it was just ice blended peanut butter...which obviously wouldn't give a thick and creamy texture, but a diluted mixture of ice and peanut butter.

A sip of it and my brain processed the peanut taste to be of those cheap ones served in restaurants, on the dinner table as appetizer before the main dishes arrived hahaha I was hoping for Skippy peanut butter taste, but nooooope! There was also way too much peanut chunks in the drink that made it quite awful to drink.

Think water, ice, a tablespoon of peanut butter, two handfuls of peanuts blended together. There you have it.

The glass it was served in was pretty cool though! Meat asked for the price and to our horror, it retails at RM99! No way am I spending that money on a blue glass with a cape lolol

Catwoman's Jewel Salted Caramel (RM15)
premium espresso with lightly salted caramel infused milk

My choice of drink, mainly cz of the salted caramel :P As I was served this drink, it kinda bothered me that they gave me a broken wing batman cookie. Boo! I mean, come on...how much would a teenie thin slice of cookie cost that you'd forgo quality control, hmm?

Other than the broken wing of my batman cookie, the drink was pretty decent. The coffee aroma was there and so was the flavour of salted caramel :) And the cookie had a nice buttery taste to it, despite being slightly burnt.

Metropolis Hero (RM15)
blueberry & strawberry waffle, with vanilla ice cream & toppings

The waffles were good! I was surprised by the fact that it was still sturdy and crispy, instead of soggy by the time we took countless photos of it haha

It came with a generous amount of blueberries and strawberry jam, that made it a little sour but nothing over the top cz the honey sort of neutralizes it.

The hits and misses of our teatime snacks made us wish we were chit chatting at the opposite cafe- Starbucks instead hahaha But that's okay, we wanted to try out the superhero-themed cafe..although for the same price or less (relatively), we would've enjoyed our cup of Starbucks more.

It should be no shocker that you're paying more for the presentation of the drinks and food than the taste. So it'll probably be a one-time thing for me.

Nevertheless, it helps to have great company when all else fails! :P
