Oily hair is what I'm known for besides my oil-rig skin and pimples. Thank God I recently came across dry shampoo and it has been my hair saver ever since!
Dry shampoos are the oil blotter of the head
Dry shampoo isn't a new thing in the market, but it is to me! One day, I was on YouTube watching Jenn Im of Clothes Encounters talk about the Batiste dry shampoo(April Favourites 2014) she used cz her hair gets pretty greasy(yay! I'm not alone!). We don't have Batiste in Malaysia though. Then Jen of From Head To Toe introduced her current favourite dry shampoo from Oscar Blandi(My Top 10 MUST HAVE Hair Products!) AND WE HAVE IT HERE IN OUR SEPHORAAAA!!
I made it my goal to pick one up and give it a try. And I did.
I got the small one, 28g to be exact for 2 reasons- 1) portability and 2) in case I don't like it/doesn't work for me.
Oscar Blandi has dry shampoos in the form of aerosol can and powder, for regular freshening and also volumizing. The one I got is the regular one in powder form because...I copied Jen hahaha
Dry shampoos work as a fast fix for dirty hair, whereby when it gets greasy as the hours past or, if you don't intend to wash your hair for a day or two. With no water or blow dryer needed, hair can be refreshed and revived in a matter of minutes!
This dry shampoo in particular not only makes hair appear cleaner and freshly washed, but it has a lemony scent too!...kinda like detergent, but you'll get used to it :X
tiny cap, quite difficult to pluck open. don't lose it too...or the powder will spill in your bag
how it looks cap-less
Usually my shower time will be around 1pm-2pm cz that's when my hair gets oily. If I were to drag the time to say 5pm, my hair will be heavy and flat cz of the amount of oiliness. By 7pm, my scalp will start itching :/
Now that I have dry shampoo, I no longer have to worry and crave for a hair wash if I'm still out past my hair wash time!
So this is how I do it. When these photos were taken, it was about 5pm but since I was home all day, it wasn't as oily as it would usually be when I'm out. So this will just have to make do.
a look at the top of my head. hair is kinda flat and groupy cz of the oil.
The powder comes out white, but do not fret! Just rub it onto your scalp/hair and it'll blend in..becoming invisible. What I usually do is powder 4 sections- top left and right, bottom left and right.
powder top left
rub rub rub it in!
powder top right
rubbbbb!
*cues song* I whip my hair back and forth! hahaha kidding, powder and rub the bottom sections..
BLEND IT ALLLLLLL!!!
You can also put some powder on your palms and rub it on your head. Use your fingertips to massage the scalp and roots.
Usually when I'm out, after dry shampooing my hair, I'll blot my oily face to complete the routine. All done!
It's quite a trusty product cz I've used it for 2 months so far and it has worked.
Best was when I went up to KL from JB, the 4-hour bus ride usually means I need a hair wash as soon as I arrived(no matter the time). But instead of going to Michelle's, we went straight to KLCC. I freaked cz I needed my shower! Not to mention that I feel the need to look presentable when I go to KLCC lolol Everyone is too clean and properly dressed there! Can't help it :X I made a beeline to the restroom, whipped out my dry shampoo and did what I had to do.
Instant fresh, clean-feeling hair!
Have fun not washing your hair!!! Juuuuust kidding :P
The Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo can be found in all Sephora outlets, under the hair care section! :)
