Sephora Komtar JBCC Opening

Johor Bahru has its very own Sephora store nowwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

1st August marked the opening of the 8th store in Malaysia, but 1st ever in Johor Bahru! Sosososooooo happy my sisters and I are in JB instead of KL!

For its opening, they gave out cash vouchers to the first 200 customers- RM100 for the first 50, RM50 for the next 150.

Obviously we'd aim for the best, so we woke up real early at 7am and arrived at 8.30am. But guess what? The security guard didn't allow us to get into the car park before 10am =.=" We made a round to City Square, parked and found out the shutters were still down, so we couldn't walk through the mall to get to Komtar JBCC. Boo! Ended up having breakfast at Hua Mui and left for Komtar at 9.45am. Strategic planning failed!

Komtar JBCC's parking lot isn't entirely ready yet, so we could only park at Level 4...and walk down the staircase till Ground Floor. SUCKS! Anyway, to my surprise there wasn't a long line in front of Sephora! Of course we're damn happy lah.. I thought we didn't stand a chance for the RM100 voucher already :P

Stickers with numbers were given out for headcount. It's nice that it wasn't some handwritten number on a neon sticker...but gold pen handwritten on a Sephora sticker lool It does make a difference, okay?

We waited rather long for the shutters to go up. In the meantime, the MC asked two questions to give out the gift bags. I thought Sephora has 7 stores in Malaysia, but it was 8. Sunway Pyramid, KLCC, Starhill, Paradigm, Nu Sentral, Gurney Paragon, Komtar. Where's the 8th one?

A group of dancers were invited to hype up the event, dancing to a 2NE1 song. It's funny that if in KL, there would have been a long ass queue 2 hours before the store is set to open and the customers would have shown a warm support...but not in JB, the queue was short and they didn't respond to the MC. It was like they were still in sleepmode :/ The 3 of us were the 3 of a few who actually looked alive LOL

A one-minute performance by the staff to mark the opening of the JBCC store!!!! We collected our vouchers and rushed in immediately, making a beeline for whatever brands we were looking forward to.

I was all rambang mata not knowing what I should first get cz I didn't intend to spend much, just within the RM100 voucher range and maybe top up some cash. I have a long list, so I was the last to pick out my stuff. 

Every 15mins or so, the MC will ask simple questions to give out gift bags and I managed to answer to the question, "What 2 brands can only be found in Sephora in Malaysia?" "Smashbox and Urban Decay!". I usually blank out when put on the spot, but I got all kiasu and went for it. The brands are all around, which made it easier for me :P

From answering the question, I got a gift bag of Sephora brand products- shower gel, loofah, body butter. I just love that it's free eventhough I don't use these haha They're my mom's now!

Prior to the event, Sephora Malaysia's Facebook were giving out 10 beauty bags to the first 10 who emailed them their tagline- WHERE BEAUTY BEATS. I love entering such contests so I hurried Michelle and Rebecca to email, feeding them the answer hahaha A few days later, we got the email congratulating us! Only 10 people got it! Woohoo!

the beauty bag contained a pocket mirror, bronzer, mask sheet, waterproof eye makeup remover and 2 eyeshadows.

The cash voucher could only be used on the day itself, so I got myself 2 essential products- primer. Now my makeup will stick and stop slipping + sliding off my face muehehe

Soooo happy we have out own Sephora now! Makes it easier to make my purchases if anything runs out while I'm in JB..especially my Purity facial cleanser :D
