MyTwoCents: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes

Since Sephora has opened its first ever branch in Johor Bahru, I feel that it's the perfect time for me to give my two cents about some products I'm using/tried that can only be found in Sephora!

I love that they has some cosmetics in mini sizes around the cashier area. So I make sure to heading over there to see what they have heheh That's a tip for you! ;)

Once, I even saw Tarte's mini blusher for RM20! But there were only 2 colours or so...and not my colours :(

Anywho, while I was at Sephora Sunway Pyramid about 2 months ago, I spotted the mini version of Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and got it!! I was indecisive at first cz I still have my CoverGirl LashBlast.

I got it one for Michelle cz she was on the lookout for mascaras and this is the perfect time to try it out! Got myself one too in the end cz my hands were just itching to get something for myself there. That's what Sephora does to me :/

This mini version does not come in a case, which was what I don't really like about the full size cz I felt it's kinda clumsy and gets dirty after some time. Glad that the mini one doesn't have the case..although it's removable la cz obviously the price includes the cost of the case too, right?

purple colour with snake skin print, golden font. Really pretty and high class looking, in my opinion..probably cz purple and gold is very royalty haha

As for the brush, here's how it looks! The bristles are the brushy kind, not hard and evenly coats every strand of eyelash. The formula smells different, my brain can't really match the smell to anything...not that it's a bad smell, but it's not a fragrant scent haha

The '4-in-1' in its name refers to its purpose as a lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning mascara. One of the ingredients- olive esters is infused to condition, treat and protect those precious lashes.

So...*cues song* coat it all...coat it all..coat lashes till long longgg hahaha That's the worse sounding English ever! Anyway, here are some photos of the mascara on my lashes! I seriously need a good lash curler cz the F21 one sucks, ugh!

Not bad lah, I like it and it works for me :) I like that it isn't waterproof, so it's easy for removal. They have the waterproof formula too, not too sure if they have it in mini size though.

I usually apply just one coat cz I like the natural-ish look rather than thick and long spidery lashes. This mascara is definitely buildable and it does give a good length and volume. Here's the breakdown.

Length- Gives a good length with one coat, buildable for more drama
Volume- Thickly coats every strand
Clumps- Minimal clumps, tends to group a few lashes together. I'll zigzag my wand more if I want less of that
Flaking-  No flakes! *thumbs up* No need to use my finger to pluck tiny flakes from my lashes :)
Smudge- On and off basis for me(usually after 2 hours), maybe cz I have oily skin, so it tends to smudge. Michelle never experienced smudges with this.
Hold- Hold curled lashes well.
Removability- Easy to remove even with regular cream makeup remover or not very good makeup wipes.
